Intention: Create a level that would fit into Bioshock Infinite for a practice design test.
I started this project in my spare time while working at Vicarious Visions. The idea was to create a level that could fit into Bioshock Infinite. Using the Unreal Engine and building off of the first person shooter template, I attempted to recreate some of the mechanics and the feel of the game using Unreal’s blueprint system. The level begins when Elizabeth is captured by Songbird and brought to the top of the Comstock Monument. Booker, the player, must navigate through the city to the top of the monument, fight Songbird, and rescue Elizabeth.
Documentation
This was the map and encounter breakdown that I created for my level before I started working on it in Unreal. The general layout of the level is the same compared to the finished product, but a lot within the level has changed due to iterations that I made because of playtesting and feedback that I received from my peers.
