Releases: Game Development/Release, Live Ops Content Updates/Patches
Roles: Associate World Designer, World Designer

During my time at Blizzard Entertainment, I have had the opportunity to work on Diablo IV both pre and post release as a World Designer. Having joined the project about a year out from release, my job initially entailed helping to close out work for the open world within the game. A large portion of my work before release was setting up spawning for monsters and clickies (objects for the player to interact with to drop loot or give them a buff) throughout the entirety of the open world. Spawning passes included placing spawners, setting up populations so the correct monsters/clickies were spawning in the areas that they should be, and eventually adjusting spawners to make sure they were correctly on the nav mesh and rotated to the terrain to make sure they did not seem out of place.

During the time before the base game was released, I had the chance to create multiple Spawn Monster Prefabs (small vignettes that could randomly spawn in the open world that added flavor to combat and making the world feel lived in). The video below shows some of the SMPs I designed and created that were able to make it into the base game.
